This blog hasn't been abandoned. Only I have had so many things to do at my workplace and for English lessons, for instance, that I have no energy nor time to write here. Maybe it will be continued as a kind of blog, which is written once or twice a week or two.

    My dog's behaviour is outrageous!
Now he's got so accustomed to his daily snack at the end of the day that he's not willing to eat the crust but only the soft parts. Therefore I had to rip the hard ones to pieces and put them into his mouth.
Next time I will have to cut it off. What a fastidious dog.

If only I knew what happens to us when we sleep. Because it's not only about relaxing, I'm sure.

I suspect we, humans have something in common with the bears. As we know, they hibernate themselves in the wintertime.
I like sleeping in fresh air that's why I always keep my window opened from and until the temperature outside makes it possible. But I finally closed the window in my room a week ago because it has got too cold outside. And since then, getting up at half past five requires much more effort.
I can feel the dawn coming when the window is opened. In that period of the year, I'm awake already when it's time to leave the bed. Thus I don't have to set the alarm clock. But if I sleep in darkness and in still air, I feel like it's the middle of the night when the alarm clock starts to ring. I think it's a common trait with the bears because my body remembers about things on an evolutionary scale of time. It believes I have less time to act in this season and it tries to save energy for me.
I have made another interesting observation. (or, at least, I find it remarkable on my part) Plastics are artificial material. Therefore it makes an unfamiliar impression on an almost unperceivable scale*. This is the reason why I rather drink from a glass glass or a ceramic jar than from a plastic glass.
It was my dog who enlightened me about this. He got a new pottery to drink water from and he certainly loves it because he still has his former plastic bowl and he hasn't drunk from that since then. And I realized this is a common trait of us.
Yesterday, my boss asked me to introduce what we had done in the spring to two people of my colleagues. One of them had taught me the Polyspace last week. So, we changed roles and this time, I was the instructor. And I had to realize it's not an easy trade. I realized that I just can't explain even simple things easily. Although they said in the end that my presentation was comprehensible, I'm afraid they were just polite. But today, I was asked to guess exercises for programming in Perl and this program was much better. But however, it was very absurd that one of my apprentices is much more qualified than me and at the same time, I gave instructions to him.
By the way, he's an interesting person. He speaks with a funny accent and I often don't understand him although he doesn't speak in a low voice. I haven't asked him yet because it would be impolite but I suspect he's from Slovakia because I had a colleague at my previous job and their accents are similar. Nobody has difficulties with communicating with him but me. I'm afraid this problem has something to do with the fact that I'm in deep water when I have to understand foreign talk. It's not my ears to blame because the problem is not the volume.
At lunch break, I was at the dentist's. Some years ago, I had a dental treatment by a quack doctor. Although her prices wasn't cheap, she cheated me many times and I get to know that in these days. For example, once I asked her to replace my amalgam fillings by white fillings. And as my present doctor was drilling my tooth and I was gargling, it turned out that my former doctor had left a large amount of amalgam in my teeth. She had covered just the top of my teeth with white fillings. And she had bungled many other things, as well. For instance, she used much more cement than what it would have been reasonable. And so on. But fortunately, my teeth has been recovering. Even though my dentist has just been on maternity leave but her substitute is also very trustworthy, considerate and professional. The prices are quite high here but the result is worth its weight in gold. Before my present doctor, I had only bad experiences with dentists. Once we had to endure dental treatment in the primary school. And that doctor didn't anaesthetize and drilled two teeth of mine in this way! That bastard! My clothes were very humid and I was trembling after the "treatment" for a long while. And the suffering was utterly futile as one of those teeth had to be pulled out later.
I will not change my present dentist, not for all the tea in China.

"Material sciences are pouring tens of thousands of artifical materials. The globality penetrates into the deepest levels of the matter's organizations and tears up the shells that protect these levels, with a brutal impulse. Dangerousness of artificial materials (and in this terminology, the nuclear bomb that uses the nuclear fission principle, as well as the peacefully used nuclear reactor’s fuel and combustion production, are also artificial materials) increases with an unbelievable speed. The more violent tearing-up of the existence-levels' protective shells is, the more risky energy there will be needed for these interventions. On the other side, nature (the real reality) does simply not recognize these materials, so it can't take back them into its eternal cycle.
    (...)
Similiar phenomenons are developing on another field, where the titan of the globality is tearing up the code of life like a genetic hacker. Mankind is about to trespass further boundaries by creating genetically modified living organisms with a roughly similiar prudentiality that we can see in the case of the artificial materials. (By the way, GM organisms can also be qualified as artifical entities, since the main point is the same: tearing up the protective shell of existence before becoming aware of the real nature of the processes.)
The so-called genetic engineering gets stranger genes to a living organism even though it's not known exactly where the given gene-sequence will infiltrate although it really does matter. Various results may occur depending on where the artificially introduced element arrives at. The other grim phase is the fact that a gene-sequence is never active permanently in the nature. That is to say, a yet unknown mechanism is activated in one case only: when it's needed by the whole organism. With a violent intervention, all introduced genes are active all the time. As this has never happened in the billion years old history of evolution; we can only make guesses what the possible consequences will be. Until now, crucial majority of genetical mass was thought to be a redundancy or an overinsurance. It's unfolding in these days that this silent depth, in other words, the majority of the mass is, in fact, a complex system of a sophisticated regulation operated by yet completely unknown mechanisms.
All GM living things are biological time bombs and we have no idea about their timing. We can only hope that it won't get working at a time and a place, when and where we expect the devastating consequences at the least.
And this is only the inside of the processes. In connection with outside effects, it's utterly unclarified, what consequences can break loose during interactions between GM and non-GM living beings and how the spontaneous interbreeding of perpetuating materials can alter complete living spaces or what's more, the entire ecosytem, as a chain reaction. It's also not clear how living organisms that eat manipulated living things, will react to all of this."

I have tried the sports function of my mobile but it didn't worked well.
The first thing we should know about it is that this feature was developed to help the owner to manage his sporting activities. For this, this gadget provides a diary for registering the results, a program to test the sportsman's condition (these are some pre-defined exercises) and a function that measures the sportsman's performance while he is running, walking, cycling, rowing or stair stepping. I selected the running option. The length of my running path is 6.7 km (I know this thanks to Google Earth, the most useful program ever made. There is a web version, so if you don't want to install, visit this page) but my phone found it was 8.5 km. The reason may be that my phone is able to count the number of the steps and it calculates everything from this data. (and from my personal details such as my height, weight, etc) But my running path consists of a number of uphill and downhill sections with different inclines and for a certain distance, I probably step more upwards than downwards. I believe this feature was originally optimized for running on a flat ground. But I don't mind, I wouldn't have utilized the sports function anyway because my sport activity is not so sophisticated. I go jogging two times a week and perform the distance with running for three minutes and walking for one. And I make it in roughly fifty minutes and it never gets better but I'm not on it anyway. This is just enough for me in this way. You may ask then why I have chosen a sports phone. Well, besides the fact that it was very sympathetic with its flashlight and appearance, it resists extreme humidity and even the water, and survives when it's accidentally dropped. I'm unfortunately inclined to ruin things easily that's why I have chosen a hickory model.
By the way I get to know an interesting fact about my jogging: the distance requires 7784 steps from me. Other datas which are probably not exact values: burnt calories: 671 kCal; average speed: 9 km/h, duration: 53 minutes and 12 seconds.
I had my second lesson at my music teacher today. We learnt some new things. For example, the minim after the note G is called G-sharp. One minim has two names, depending on the direction we approach. Thus before G, we can find the G-flat, which is the same as F-sharp. I'm in trouble with the English names because many names exist for one conception. For example, the half note is also called as minim but while I was reading the Wikipedia, I found a third name called semitone. I get lost between these definitions. So I think, I won't bother about the English aspect of the theoretical part of the music from now on; I will rather return to this issue after I will have learnt everything in Hungarian. Now I'm going to continue the scales and other practices for my fingers.

We can already tell that we are beyond the thirty-sixth week of 2007. This information was easy to find thanks to the calendar function of my new mobile. The first impression of my new purchase is very positive. I'm very delighted at the ability to listen to mp3 files. The music sounds clearly and nicely although a wireless solution would have been more desirable. Or, at least, a feature to adjust the length of the wire. The wire is too long because there is firstly a unit I have to plug in my phone. Then I have the headset, of which the length is also too long. But this is not as much problem as much I just wrote about it. I simply put the whole ensemble into an inner pocket of my jacket and the problem is eliminated. In the summertime, when jackets aren't worn, I will put the phone into the pocket of my trousers.
Because the original theme looked terrible, I downloaded a new one after browsing a lot. Of course, it's about the WINTER. The wallpaper shows a beautiful winter landscape at dawn with trees, of which the black twigs and branches are covered by bright white frost, and a faint white coloured planet on the dark blue sky, which is ten times larger than our Moon. It partly covers another celestial body, maybe a moon of that planet. Some flying birds can also be seen on this picture but they are very small because they're passing in the background. The dominant colours are white and several shades of blue. It's a gripping atmosphere.
The menu system fits in with this mood. When it's active, the background doesn't disappear but becomes pale and this solution is very stylish. The active menu item is highlighted in faint white, under which the background picture becomes more pale and the letters are inscribed in white. So, it really comes into sight.
There is a sports mode, an outstanding feature if it works well. I haven't tried it yet. But it's supposedly able to measure your speed while running, the distance of your run and the burnt calories. These datas can be registered in a diary. I'm going to try this in the afternoon.
But my favourite feature of all is the flashlight on the top of the phone next to the power switch, which can be activated by pressing the * key for a half second.
Although I wrote early this week that my new task seemed to be quite compicated, many things has become plain. I was confused because of the vast amount of parameters for the testings. But yesterday, I was able to perform a complete test on a file in two and a half hours, which was considered as a quite well performance by my instructor. But I'm again at a point that I have to ask a lot and I can disturb just one man. I got to know yesterday that I'm assigned to trainings on 17th, 18th and 21th of September. The number of the groups for these trainings is about ten but only three employees participates the training on 21th. And an examination is to be taken after each of these trainings but it's understandable because without it, people would just sit and wouldn't concentrate on. As I know, there won't be any consequences of the results but the main purpose, in my opinion, is to make people take the program seriously.
My left wrist has become painful due to my practices in the evenings. If you put your hand into the right position, the positure is very unusual. But I have to adjust my limbs because it will be very important later, at more complicate issues.

And the astonishing discovery of the day: I have just realized that the word "web" has nothing to do with the meaning of the word "pocket"... I have lived many years in a way that I believed these are synonymous with each other! 8|

I had to close the window in the middle of the last night. It means the fall has come. Yeah!
And at my company, the age of idleness came to an end yesterday. A new colleague arrived who I will work with on a new project. A third fellow, who is very professional by the way, teaches us to things but the advance is very slow. I don't understand a lot of things and we often run into problems, which set even my instructor thinking a lot. This is very complicated. How will I deal with my new task? I don't know yet. But I don't worry and care, I just let things happen. It's not me for a long time already who controls the happenings around me. And I can't say a word because, after all, I have survived everything so far and without any disastrous consequences.
I'm a happy owner of a new Nokia 5500. Unfortunately, only a provider-independent version was available so it cost more than I had expected. But it was worth it. This was the last available model in many showrooms and shops as I got to know after some inquiries. I have to wait one more day for putting it to use because the battery must be charged for sixteen hours at the first time. I also bought a memory card with a capacity of one gigabyte because the phone was originally supplied with an only sixty-four megabyte card, which is ridiculously little. A space for only three or four MP3 files.
This dog is very surprised recently. One of his owners has developed a new habit that he gives tasteful liverwurst spread on bread every evening. But he doesn't hesitate too much and gulps those bits and he is glad. And this is the best thing he can do since his owner drips nine drops onto the bread from a vial filled with very healthy liquid that his owner got from his English teacher. This substance was originally bought for a golden ager cat but she didn't need it as she just reached an age that she couldn't stay with her family any longer and she had to move on after that short stage of her infinite journey.

  • That's all

I have been running the same circles all my life.
    Round and round.

My mother has invented the aubergine cream and I'm eating that every evening, at dinner. Unfortunately, I can't have it in the morning because there is garlic in this mixture, so my mouth smells afterwards. Besides the garlic and the aubergine, it consists of butter, uncooked eggs, lemon, oil, mustard, salt and pepper. Winning combination. I used to eat this plant covered with breadcrumbs and fried in oil but now I have got to know another aspect of this respectable creature.
And I have invented the nut butter on my own. I didn't know that it's nothing else but mashed nuts. We had guests yesterday, who were actually my brother-in-law's parents who came to see the dvd about the newly weds' wedding ceremony and to take a copy. Among others, there were some hazel nuts on the table and I put the remains into a labour saving device to grind. The result was some sticky material, which actually looked disgusting but it tasted fine. But you have to be very careful because it's very easy to lick an amount that makes your stomach upset. If you yet eat that amount, you become very thirsty after a short time and the water, you swallow, drastically extends the volume of that mass in your stomach. I tried to mix it with scrambled eggs this morning but it was not a good idea because the taste disappeared.
By the way, I was very frightened yesterday two times. My brother-in-law's four-year-old nephew also visited us and he was bored with watching the scenes of the marriage. And I took care of him sometimes when he went out or to the upstairs to find some entertainment. He found my guitar and we sat down to make some noise. Yes, I deliberately wrote this word because he wasn't willing to try to play a normal tune. Although the "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" wouldn't have been hard even for him. I could have pressed the strings down and he only would have had to pick just two strings in the right order. But he was rather interested in making loud noise. I was frightened for the first time at this point because sometimes he picked the strings so rudely that I believed they would be snapped immediately. And it would have been remarkably embarassing because I didn't have spare strings and I was going to have my first guitar lesson on the next day (today). And I was frightened again when they were leaving but he got so hot that he was sweltering and his face was red. And his grandparents were uncomprehending because he hadn't run too much. They were guessing that if he was feverish. And suddenly I recalled that we had been out on the terrace for a while, where the floor is covered with tiles and we had been walking there barefoot (I mean we had been wearing only stocks). It hadn't been too cold at all but who knows how the little children deal with the temperature at their feet? Finally they left. Although my sister and his husband didn't consider this thing so dangerous, I had a largely unslept night, full of guilty conscience. Now, I have calmed down because one day has passed and there isn't any problem, as I know.
Today I had my first lesson at my music teacher. I didn't stayed for long because we couldn't do much as I'm a music illiterate. But I have learnt that the sound notes are signed with seven letters namely such as C, D, E, F, G, A, B and then C again. Note B is indicated with the letter H in the Hungarian practice. These whole notes or semibreves make one octave. Between E and F as well as H and C, there aren't half notes or minims. (As I know, there are quarter notes or crotchets, too, but we didn't studied them on this first lesson)
The fingerboard can be found on the neck of the guitar and you use the fingers of your left hand to press down the strings between the frets. There are six strings for the notes E, A, D, G, B and E again (at one octave up) on the guitar. If you place your finger two frets farther from a position, you get the next whole note. When you arrive at a whole note, which is followed by a half note (or minim), you must take right the next fret (that's to say, you mustn't skip one fret) to get it. And there's another trick. You mustn't skip one fret neither, when you are at a whole note, which isn't followed by a half note.
So, I'm now able to find every semibreve and minim on the guitar; I only have to count a lot. This is my first homework, anyway. I will have to be able to find any (randomly selected) notes by the next Sunday. For this, I have to learn the strings of the guitar and the order of the notes there and back by heart. I must do picking a lot, as well. I got two orders of notes to practice on. My first experience is that my ring finger is very retarded; I must work with it a lot. It also turned out that my guitar wasn't tuned well, so he tuned it by rotating the tuning heads or pegs on the headstock.
